Charlotte
Charlotte, who Single-handedly founded the Knight's Hall, not only comes from a noble family but was also a soldier. As a result, she has impeccable swordsmanship, aesthetics, and etiquette. Charlotte is known for her gentle and courteous demeanor, as well as her eager and responsible attitude. Everyone knows that if they need help, they can count on her. In addition to accepting security assignments, the Knight's Hall also offers swordsmanship training. Due to the professional security and reasonable prices, it is popular among the commoners.
As the youngest of four children, Charlotte was raised under the loving care of her parents and three older sisters. Despite being of noble birth, she has been enthusiastic about experiencing commoners' culture since she was a child and would often take her maid to visit the town. Her undue interest in the people did upset her parents on many occasions, but as she didn't forget her noble upbring and on account of the freedom she would lose upon getting married, they did not reproach her more than necessary.
It was during those visits of hers that Charlotte witnessed the hardships of the commoners, and the sights she saw became imprinted on her mind. She who had received an aristocratic education and who felt drawn to the commoners got an even deeper understanding of the responsibility nobles had to protect the people. Hence, when she grew up, she chose a path for herself that astounded everyone—she decided to become a soldier.
Regrettably, Charlotte didn't get to rush to the frontlines as she hoped after graduating from military school. Just as she thought she was marching toward her dream, her extraordinary looks got her the designation of an honor guard, which was nothing close to what she originally joined the military for.
With that, the girl made yet another brave decision and left the military, then established "Knight's Hall" to protect the civilians in her own way.
The current standing of Charlotte's family is thanks to the accolades their ancestors earned on the battlefield in the distant past, which is why her father is unable to disagree with her viewpoint about how "nobles are nobles because we have noble obligations." If he were to disagree, that would equate to discrediting their ancestors' hard work and the glory of his own background.
Charlotte's decision to leave home was not strongly objected against, for her father held the belief that his pampered daughter could never be able to survive military life and was even anticipating her to make her own way home after learning a lesson out there and becoming truly "sensible."
To his shock, under Charlotte's adorable appearance was an exceptionally tenacious spirit, and with the support of her ascension abilities, she obtained phenomenal results in military school. While this father fretted over it, what he refused to admit was that in reality, a tinge of pride had also sprouted deep within him. He vaguely sensed that although she had diverged from the path her family expected of her, this daughter of his would excel everywhere she went.
And that certainly is true. Charlotte was already greatly admired and fascinated by the juniors while in the military. When she left, Tistar, who had been close with Charlotte, even chose to leave alongside her.
After the "Knight's Hall" was established, Charlotte swiftly adapted to the life of an unauthorized knight—lacking the formal knighthood or gleaming armor—and relied solely on her skills and weapons. Despite this, Charlotte found her new life much more fulfilling than her previous role as an honorary soldier. Even simple acts like rescuing a kitten stuck in a tree brought her satisfaction, knowing she could help those around her.
Charlotte had built strong relationships with the townspeople, who held her in high regard, leading to the prosperity of the Knight's Hall. Balancing self-sufficiency with aiding others, both Charlotte and Tistar found joy in this way of life.As the Knight's Hall gained renown, they decided to expand their business to neighboring towns, becoming popular across a wider area. When Charlotte contemplated expanding her business further to the world on the surface, the townspeople threw a farewell party for her and Tistar, worried they might not return.
Charlotte reassured them, affirming her unwavering dedication: "No matter how tempting other places may be, I shall never abandon my noble duty or my people."
Charlotte, renowned for her noble etiquette, stands as the epitome of Mundus nobility among the crew. Her refined demeanor and steadfast adherence to etiquette are a rarity on the surface, often leading to misunderstandings and occasional trouble. Undeterred, Charlotte refuses to compromise her codes of conduct while adapting to the surface world in her own unique manner.Currently, the Knight's Hall operates without a fixed base, with Charlotte and Tistar serving as beacons for those in need of assistance from this noble-hearted knight. While Charlotte's fees are generally reasonable, her exceptional skills often attract clients willing to pay a hefty sum for her services. Consequently, she now leads a comfortable life, occasionally indulging in purchases that match her refined tastes.
Outside of work, Charlotte frequents second-hand markets, uncovering items whose true value has yet to be realized. Despite Tistar's scolding for what she considers wasteful spending, Charlotte is drawn to these overlooked treasures, even if they occasionally lead to financial struggles at the Knight's Hall. She simply cannot resist rescuing items with hidden worth, unnoticed by many.
Charlotte's most recent acquisition is an old medal from the Imperial Order. Its once-gilded layer has been worn away by previous owners, and its intricate design bears scratches and marks. Despite the damage, its historical significance remains intact. As Charlotte gazes pensively at the medal, she begins to contemplate her true path as a knight...
Hello, I'm Charlotte, currently managing the "Knight's Hall" on the surface. Nice to meet you.
It's my turn to take the stage. Thanks for giving me time to rest.
My "Knight's Hall" also includes home service swordsmanship training. Are you interested in swordsmanship, Conductor?
Don't be fooled by my looks. I was an imperial standard-bearer, though it's not a prestigious military role.
"Noble's obligations." That's why I quit being a standard-bearer and took up the sword.
It's inconvenient to carry this great sword around daily. Every time I walk on wooden floors, they would creak...
Even though I look like this now, I was once a noble. I still have some ability to appraise fine things.
Tiss followed when I left the army, just like a little sister.
Tiss's cooking is delicious. What I whip up... can't quite measure up...
I found some valuable treasures in a second-hand market and couldn't resist buying them... You mustn't tell Tiss!
Conductor doesn't treat me differently because of my nobility. This makes me happy.
Although my culinary skills are somewhat lacking... if you really insist, Conductor, I can also...
If it's a "business request", I charge a fee. But if it's your personal request, it's free. So, which is it, dear "customer"?
I've been learning cooking from Tiss lately... I wonder if you would be willing to taste it for me, Conductor?
Charlotte, here to help!
I do not show compassion to those in my way.
I will get rid of every single nuisance.
Such is the finesse of a Mundus knight!
How audacious!
...This is it. Fall back!
My mistake... Fall back for now.
I will continue pressing forward with humility and composure.
