Lissandra
As a Vanguard (honorary) of the Destroyer at Source Citadel, Lissandra is a mentor and predecessor to many members within the Destroyer and other Citadel departments, with her age undisclosed. Sporting a perennially dependable smile, she holds strong beliefs and excels in philosophical contemplation and debate. Notably, she is renowned for engaging in a three-day discourse with a peer mentor of equivalent standing. While she is a trustworthy ally in times of peril, it is advised to steer clear of deep philosophical discussions on topics like humanity, society, and life with Lissandra, as those who have attempted this have learned their lessons the hard way.
After Lissandra came aboard the Eternal, practically all the youngsters who had received her help, tips, and guidance began living life on edge. Katas no longer practices Soul-shattering Slash in the aisle, Suen no longer gets rambunctious in the dining carriage, and even Rina Von and Fenia - who are typically more disciplined - have applied to leave the carriage temporarily.
Of course, there are also people who haven't been affected by her, such as Joshua and Dustin. Joshua still carries on with their habit of sleeping as and when they wish, with no concern for anyone else's feelings; not even when Lissandra stands before them do they care to wake up. Dustin, on the other hand, simply had a brief conversation with her before rushing off to somewhere else that needed him more, so that was that.
Some people regard Lissandra as a respectable teacher, some treat her as their trustworthy comrade, and some seem to be nervous and even afraid around her. With such a great discrepancy in people's attitudes and opinions of her, this naturally begs the question: Just what experience was it that shaped this "executor" into who she is now?
Lissandra's combat technique truly blows people's minds away. She, who's tall and clean-limbed, actually wields a huge hammer that seems heavier than herself. Her agility and quick-thinking skills on the battlefield are exceptionally strong, her combat strategies equally impressive. Whenever she appears among a wave of Chaos Remains with that hammer in hand, the victory of the battle is virtually already declared.
Lissandra's Ascension Ability isn't clearly registered in any file, and she never brings it up on her own either. That said, several related information and even records from dozens of years ago have indicated that she will "send those people whom she thinks need it to dreamscape." Rather than an objective description of an Ascension Ability, records like that seem more like some sort of glamorized outcome that isn't really credible. But if anyone asks Lissandra about her Ascension Ability, the answer is relatively ambiguous too.
"That is indeed what I do. Apart from passing judgments, I will also give the sinner a gift... Allowing them to welcome their finality in such a dreamscape is the mission given by God, as well as God's mercy."
Despite constantly talking about "God," Lissandra has never once explained who exactly the "God" is.
Now, to the people who have interacted with or heard of Lissandra, everything she does is benevolent and humane, another interpretation of the Citadel's "saving humanity" philosophy. But in daily life, she's still a decently rational person; you will even see her playing assistant to other mentors or volunteering in Bonfire Cities' events.
Lissandra also enjoys cooking, albeit the food she makes doesn't look too appealing, and her favorite pastime is to hum a song while creating potions with unknown usage, though she rarely lets anyone use them. Her method of making potions is somewhat similar to what Arcana is used to, and the songs she sings mostly come from the Empire. Based on all the evidence, she's quite possibly a native of Mundus as well.
Yet, the Citadel has no clear records of Lissandra's background. Only in the Fabricate - the place that houses all of the Citadel's books from the beginning of time, where a mere handful of people are able to enter - can bits and pieces of information be found linked to this name and figure in red.
It was only in recent decades that "Lissandra" started appearing in the outside world again. Considering that she can flawlessly recount the things that transpired when the Citadel was first founded, she is commonly regarded as one of the early members of the Citadel, even though the history of the Citadel has dated back long over a hundred years.
Whenever something consequential that majorly affects humankind occurs, Lissandra will show up, investigate it, and pass judgment on whoever's involved. She will look into their past, family background, life experience, and even little-known details of these people with a fine-tooth comb, then compile these pieces of information into a complete case file.
In the past, countless people opted to be Lissandra's student due to their admiration for her knowledge and character, but upon witnessing her perseverance in gathering and studying these pieces of information, some of them couldn't help questioning her motive.
Lissandra wouldn't answer such questions directly, and owing to that, people kept proclaiming that she was carrying out dangerous activities, causing her to become a fearsome existence over and over again. However, things always get better with time. Once the rumor mills stopped, new students would be drawn to her again.
In this repetitive cycle, only Lissandra's conduct and determination remained steadfast. She tenaciously strived for fair trials to eradicate sinners and rescue innocent people who were framed, but before passing her judgment, she still needed sufficient evidence to prove that what she did was right.
Hence, Lissandra began taking action. A new volume has been added to her case file collection - although the accused currently spends all day with her on the same train, she will still pass her judgment on this person when the time comes.
I am Lissandra. Be it light or darkness, as long as your belief is firm, I shall eventually reach your side.
Do you need help? I'll come right away.
All beings are equal. It is my wish and duty to maintain social justice.
It is my duty to guide the stray lambs back to the right path.
Though I am a Vanguard of the Destroyer, I don't always stay there waiting for orders. I'll appear wherever I'm needed.
Perhaps you've noticed, this world is heading toward doom... I must eradicate this distortion and prevent further tragedies.
I used to agonize over how to fairly judge injustice. After infinite agony... I gained this ability... this miracle.
When humans are unaware that they're dreaming, it's impossible for them to wake up, as dreamscape is essentially another world sustained by another "logos."
I'm penniless most of the time. Money is just an extraneous thing to me.
To me, being the executor of "the will of mankind's majority" is practicing "justice."
In the name of absolute justice, I've sent many misguided heroes to a better world. To safeguard the beauty of mankind, I've also transformed countless villains into the "image" people long for.
In opulence or poverty, death will eventually befall upon everyone equally. Death, too, is a form of mercy.
Should the Citadel commit heinous crimes one day, I won't hesitate to pass judgment, even if it means destroying the entire Citadel.
I've met too many people, yet most of them have become my vague memories throughout my everlasting life. Only that child still makes me sigh. I won't forget her.
Atone for thy sins, redemption awaits.
Bear thy sins, and yield to eternal slumber.
Grant the sinner thy utmost benevolence.
I shall grant thee God's blessing.
Thou lost one, return to the path.
O God, I beseech thee…
All tribulation has its purpose.
All is God's decree. I am but a servant.
