Yamaarashi

Yamaarashi currently works as a private detective in spite of her fairly young age. Trailing, photographing, and collecting information are the most ideal types of work for a Mugenryu ninja, whose fundamental skill depends on concealing one's aura. Although she hasn't reached the superlative phase, these regular tasks are a breeze for her, which is why after completing her detective work, she will diligently hone her ninjutsu craft, hoping to become the most formidable ninja someday.
It is basically out of the question to probe Yamaarashi about crucial intel of Night Chains. She may be outgoing and talkative, but she still has the dignity and vigilance of a ninja, even though society has already modernized and there's no longer a master to serve. The same happens when she's asked about the matters of her Mugenryu associates; her answer will always be a proud "no comment," just like those fabulous ninjas in the movies.
Yamaarashi finds it way cooler to wander in the shadows of high-rise buildings every day and night and occasionally emerge smoothly than leaping onto roofs and vaulting over walls like in ancient times. Well, of course, it would be best if she could leap and vault, too!

A typically regular pretty young lady who transforms into a vigilante ninja when necessary! Truth be told, this is pretty much the lifestyle of Yamaarashi, but she seems to always wonder if she can become cooler, more impressive, and much closer to an actual superhero. Her favorite form of entertainment is watching anime and special effects films regarding identity transformations.
The revenue of the detective agency is fairly good, allowing Yamaarashi's family, who used to depend on Mugenryu, to live much more comfortably. At first, Yamaarashi was quite ashamed to speak of her "photography career," but now, she's already practiced at explaining her job scope and collecting payments from her clients. In her view, there's nothing to be ashamed of when she's simply earning a living with her own skillset!
However, despite no longer being in financial difficulties, Yamaarashi did not develop her hobby into a stage where she'd splurge on merchandise and costumes. She has long planned out various methods of entry, the specific angle of her finger while pointing at villains, and the final pose after completing her missions; yet, she could never resolve to put on those exaggerated costumes.
That doesn't stop her from lingering outside specialist costume stores every now and then, though. Sometimes, she will even sneak into them alongside other customers and try on the looks of the few series she loves. Who knows, perhaps someday, she may just make up her mind to ring something up at last.

In truth, Yamaarashi has somewhat different goals for ninjutsu, unlike her "nemesis" Tobinezumi, who only became a ninja to pursue her celebrity dream. The thought of straying from her path has never crossed Yamaarashi's mind... for she has learned ninjutsu from a young age, and she does believe she's gifted in this aspect. So what if she can't defeat Tobinezumi once and for all anytime soon? She knows it's only a matter of sooner or later.
Nonetheless, in spite of her hard work, Yamaarashi does encounter some unresolvable problems at times, such as ancestral items suddenly jamming, her massive shuriken causing a gaping hole in the ground, and the failure to recall sealing gestures at critical junctures... These minor troubles do not result in irredeemable consequences, but they never fail to eat away at Yamaarashi. Alas, there isn't anyone her age in her family for her to rant to, and even the people on The Eternal who can understand these frustrations of hers are few and far between.
One time, while discreetly crying over these minor troubles, Yamaarashi—through her blurred vision—accepted a cup of ice cream from someone unknown. She wept and vented her frustrations, having zero courage to even lift her head. By the time she finally looked up sobbingly, that girl her age had already left, leaving behind a cup of melted ice cream on the carriage floor.
It is Yamaarashi's hope that she can befriend that girl one day.
