Suen

Save for her lack of fear toward any and everything, Suen pretty much behaves like a normal, constantly mischievous imp. She was a slightly timid and quiet child prior to participating in the experiment, but once it ended, she turned into the optimistic, cheerful, and utterly talkative person she is now, likely because her body patterns have given her confidence. Plenty of people have become fond of this almost ridiculously high-spirited girl who always has a smile on her face.
However, Suen has a habit of prattling on and on, able to make any brief topics as long-winded as discussing history. Even when others aren't listening at all, she will ramble non-stop, and if you finally interrupt her after having had enough, she will most likely be oblivious to how troubled you feel. This has caused opinions of her in the Citadel to be poles apart, and some people even go as far as to walk the other way if they see her coming around.
Despite her grown physique, Suen's mentality is still rather childish, and her knowledge and understanding aren't sufficient to back up the image of an adult she tries to present. Her immaturity is evident in her everyday behavior, but no one has attempted to spend the time to help her recognize this fact since she forever has her own way of rationalization.

Despite Suen being a part of the Citadel that has innumerable gifted people, few are capable of controlling her—or rather, she doesn't consider that as "controlling"—but thankfully, some have mastered a handful of methods that can temporarily quiet her down.
The pioneers of the Citadel believed they ought to take responsibility for her undergoing the transformation. Even though they weren't directly working on the "Mistletoe" project, they thought that it was their negligence in supervision that prompted this child's unnecessary suffering. Needless to say, some of these people are Dustin, who used to specialize in medical research, and maybe even Lissandra, who's always so full of compassion...
After Suen's physical condition more or less stabilized, Dustin took over the job of monitoring her and, in one way or another, became her "parent." Through a period of trial and error, he eventually managed to persuade her with his uniquely gentle speech to comply on certain things, namely checkup cooperation, timely consumption of medication, and not being fussy with food. In addition, he even made her feel like all those were her own decisions, which was utterly amazing, to say the least.
Meanwhile, aboard The Eternal where she lacks a guardian, Suen has pretty much become 'unruly.' Just like how the crew has become accustomed, her mouth prattles on around the clock, and she often causes a din whenever she pleases... Perhaps it's time to get some tips from the Citadel members to bring her into line.

Once you spend some time with Suen, you'll realize she not only self-proclaims to be a mature woman but also has the mistaken belief that she has "adequate knowledge in romantic relationships." If we use her standards as an example, the kindness the Conductor shows her can practically be explained as unparalleled love. Many people have told her that wasn't the case, but it didn't change her mind either way.
Practically all the knowledge of love in Suen's brain comes from hearsay, and at times, she'll absorb more (useless) knowledge from TV shows and novels as well. Most of the people only become friendly with her because they find her amusing, while some are drawn by the peculiar patterns that cover her from head to toe. Yet, she mistook these to be ironclad proof of her being a heartthrob and even wanted to create a fan club for herself. That said, there might actually be advantages to being mistaken as her romantic partner, as it would make her especially diligent at work.
Suen's fearlessness is basically invincible on the battlefield; anyone who sees her traversing through bloodbaths would most likely be petrified. But at the same time, her impressive combat ability also guarantees that she'll make it back safely. Even if the worst were to happen—she got wounded by enemies—her injuries would heal at terrifying speed, and she'd laugh it off and get back to the battle.
Still, it's almost for certain that anyone who views her as a comrade would hesitate should they see her that way. Is this truly worth it? Must we let this child who doesn't know fear continue fighting like this?
